The Story and the Silence was a reading room featuring case-bound and accordion-style books handmade by the artist, rotating around a central sculptural object backdropped by a handmade byobu folding screen. Handmade paper cushions were provided to guests to take their time in the space, and the gallery remained open from morning to evening, enabling a range of viewing experiences.
The accordion books showed an array of celestial bodies illustrated with gouache and sumi ink while the case-bound books contained illustrations and notes about dream-like creatures.
